Beckett Ridge HOA Board Meeting
July 15, 2014 at Tri-County Baptist Church
Call to Order/Attendance
Dennis Bender called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
Board Members present were Dennis Bender, Terri McGill-Wong, Mark Morris, Sharon Palm and Burt Young. Dave Burling and Debbie Olszowka were absent with notice. Representatives from Towne Properties and Brickman were also in attendance.
The Minutes of the Board of Trustees June meeting were approved.
Homeowner Requests/Concerns – Mark Menke addressed the Board about the creek area behind his home. Brickman told the group that work was in progress to clean up the area and to cut back the growth and that it should be completed by the end of the week.
Two applications were submitted. The Board approved one and approved the deck application portion of the second one. The fence portion was rejected due to the proposed placement of the fence. Towne will notify the owner that they need to re-apply for the fence.
Bob Wilson gave the report. He reviewed the maintenance schedule. The Board approved a proposal to remove trees in the common area behind Winged Foot and from the creek behind Ash Tree. Bob reviewed the credit due from the floral failure at the West Gateway. He told the Board that there are 19 trees that have failed due to imprelis damage. DuPont has approved 15 of the list. Board set up a meeting with Brickman to review the proposals for the West Gateway and to look at some of the other floral displays in the community. The meeting will be held Friday morning at 9:00 am.
The Board reviewed and approved the current cash statement and delinquent status report. Board agreed to roll two maturing CDs into one 48-month CD with Northside Bank.
The Board reviewed the logs from Towne Properties.
A. 2014 Maintenance Projects
1. Rollingwood Entrance– Hilltop Electric has submitted a bid to remove the meter to an area behind the new wall. The engineer is working on getting another bid for the work. The Board asked that the Association’s attorney send a letter to the Golf Course informing them of the current danger with the meter and the Association’s plans to move it.
2. Asphalt bids– the Board reviewed three bids for paving of the walking path from Beckett Road over to Wood Glen; paving the small parking area/path by the Windbrook Trail playground and paving of Woodcliff Drive. The Board approved the bid from Apex.
- Community Website – the Board discussed the need to meet with the webmaster to review how updates are done and to determine if there is some way to set up a community email blast feature. Some of the Board members will attempt to set up a meeting with the Beckett resident who maintains the community website.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the general meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
The next Board of Trustees Meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Tri-County Baptist Church.
